Oh no she didn't!
I do lots of things I'm not proud of. I justify all of these things in my mind while doing them...nevertheless, they probably shouldn't be done. See for yourself:
Oh no I didn't:
1. Empty potty contents in the backyard and sprayed the potty with a hose or rinse it out with rain water dripping off of the roof. (it's better than wiping it out with a towel....GROSS!)
Oh no I didn't...
2. Wipe my kids nose with dirty jeans from the hamper (it was the closest thing to me!)
Oh no I didn't...
3. Threaten to leave my kids at the safe baby site (OK...not proud of this one, I was having a bad day)
Oh no I didn't...
4. Pick up hot dogs from 7-11 and called it dinner.(hey...my kids like hot dogs, it was dinner time, and we were already at 7-11 getting gas- makes perfect sense)
Oh no I didn't...
5. Make my boys repeat an outfit for school on Monday morning that they wore to church the Sunday before (in my defense, we immediately removed the clothes after church on Sunday afternoon so they were in them 3hrs tops)
Oh no I didn't...
6. Throw away my kids artwork from school that they are soooo proud of! (how many stick figure families and rainbows am I required to keep?)
Oh no I didn't...
7. Use a bobby pin to retrieve boogers (my finger wouldn't fit plus my aunt did this to me once when I was a kid and although I hated it then...it really is a good idea plus I really hate snotty, booger nosed kids)
Oh no I didn't...
8. Refill my pickle jar with pickles from the condiment bar at Cousins BBQ (OK, they have the best condiment bar ever, and they give you these Styrofoam bowls to take home and I filled it up with pickles and I couldn't just throw the unused ones away so I added them to my pickle jar...I'm one smart cookie!)
Oh no I didn't...
9. Stock up on plastic coffee stirrers from McDonald's (I love these coffee stirrers because they are long enough to fit in my tall travel mugs and I don't have to dirty up a spoon unnecessarily...I am a genius!)
Can't believe I shared all of that with you. You know what they say, honesty is the best policy!

I love Jesus...
But I could hold off a bit before I meet Him!

My friend Jennifer sent me this cartoon the other day and I thought it was pretty funny. The not so funny part is that I read this email while driving and then I look over to my right and see a guy shaving with his electric razor. I immediately put down my phone because two wrongs never made a right! Safety first!

Maid wanted.....
While working in our dining room/office I happened to look up at our atrocious chandelier to see this.......
So I sent him and email with the picture attached and asked him what he was trying to say......
He sent an email back stating that the picture said enough!
HOW RUDE!
Maybe a little cleaning is in order?

Did I Do That
Sometimes I am amazed at my parenting abilities or lack thereof. Here is a sneak peek at some of the things I've done in the past that I thought I'd never share......Enjoy!
Did I seriously make my kid take a nap instead of finish his breakfast because he refused to say please when I asked him to before I presented him with his meal?
Did I really actually pretend to be sleep the other night when I heard Ian crying so that Terrance would have to get up and tend to his needs because I did not want to get out of my comfy bed and hike up the stairs at 2am?
Did I actually pray to God for a company to go bankrupt because I paid for a service that they did not deliver but they refused to refund my money? (I did later ask for forgiveness and ask God for justice to be served whether it’s to me or to them) See….I can be the bigger person.
Did I secretly wish my son would actually get mad and push a little kid off of him that was bullying him at the McDonald’s play ground because I hate when he screams like a little girl? Yep, I said it…..a little girl!
Did I actually look at my husband and say “I’m Done!” when Ian was having a melt down and I didn’t have the mental and/or physical energy to deal with it?
Did I spank Ian for trying to jump out of his high chair when he was just trying to get out to retrieve the spoon that had fallen to the floor!
Did I have to apologize to Ian for spanking him for no reason! ( I thought he poured his bowl of cereal on the floor which he has a bad habit of doing but Evan told me that it was an accident)
Do I really use baby wipes for everything: clean bottoms, the leather seats in the car, stains in shirt, counter tops, wipe off dirty shoes, wipe my face, etc.

Oops I Did It Again......Did I Do That?!

On a more serious note, so that no one thinks that I'm a cruel and unfit mother, I was thinking to myself (while taking pictures)..... "DID I JUST DO THAT?!"

Did I Do That?
I would first like to start off by congratulating my husband on his prestigous Teacher of The Month designation at Reagan Middle School. Way to go T! Enjoy your free lunch from Applebees!
Now it's time for my weekly "DID I DO THAT" post. This post is about the things I find myself doing as a parent that sometimes blow my mind. This particular incident is pretty mild but I never thought I'd have to encounter it......so soon.
It was a normal day at the Lofton house with the boys playing and sharing and laughing and such when all of a sudden Evan grabs a toy from Ian's hand. Instead of running to me and tattling like Evan would do. Ian grabs Evan by the face and tries to scratch his eye out! Are you kidding me? Where did all that aggression come from? Why aim for blood. I had to pick Ian up by the back of his t-shirt like a mother dog with her baby pups and pull him away. So Evan was forced to go to bible study with red scratches around his eye. Seriously! Does this mean there will be counseling required in the future. No one in our family is this aggressive. Did it come from those episodes of Spongebob or maybe he was watching a little too hard when we played boxing on the Wii! At any rate, we need an intervention because I never thought I'd have to pull apart my kids from a fit of rage at the tender age of 18mths! Pray my strength!
