Happy Anniversary -10 and counting!

Today is our 10th wedding anniversary.  I will be the first to say that it has been an awesome ride thus far.  Don't get me wrong...it hasn't all been peaches and cream but I wouldn't trade one second of my life with Terrance for anything in the world.  Looking back over the years, it's easy to see how much we've grown.  We not only have noticeable laugh lines and an expanding waist line as signs of maturity but our relationship has blossomed as well.

I will admit that this 10th year has been the hardest for us in terms of our relationship.  There slowly came a point when we stopped putting each other first and allowed our marriage to simmer on the back burner and the back burner is no place for a marriage to be.  We were taking care of business in every aspect of our life except for our marriage.  The needs of our kids, our jobs, our friends, our families were all met but at the sacrifice of one another.  Like all things that fester...it all came to a head one day and after a lot of brain busting the problem was in fact easy to fix.  Our marriage comes first after God.  Period. The end.  Everything else will fall into place.  Our new goal is to focus on meeting the needs of one another.  With the simple idea being that if both of our needs are being met then we can handle all of the other life obstacles that come our way and the best part of that is that we will handle them together.

There is a reason that love is one of the most important attributes of Christian living.  Without love it is impossible to please God.  Love is completely giving of yourself to benefit someone else without the thought of gaining something in return.  Love is powerful!

I Corinthians 13:4-8
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.
