Monday Manna: Next Phase

I am moving on to the next phase in my life and it's pretty darn sad. My oldest son has started school and is now a kindergartner. I now have a school aged child. The first of my flock to start his educational career that will last 13+ years. Our lives are no longer our own. Everything will revolve around his school schedule. He will have the enormous responsibility of acquiring knowledge. His future is predicated on this acquisition of knowledge. He can't fail! Success is the only option. What a responsibility for a 5 yr old kid (and his mommy). Hopefully we have trained him right thus far. Time to let go and let God take care of the rest!

Here are a some throwback pictures of my Evan...

Here he is on his 1st day of kindergarten...

Check out those skinny legs...

I didn't want to let go

Yeah! I don't have to pack a lunch.  Check out my big boy writing his name!

    Umm....BYE Mommy!

Evan has personal space issues: Look at him all up under the teachers arm pit. Geesh!

Ian was so excited to see his big brother after 7 hours of being stuck alone with mommy!

School day number one was a success!

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

  1. I am going to miss Evan! I think my kids are going to miss him even more. But, I think he is ready for his brain to be put to work!!
