Monday Manna - Forgive us

Evan: Mommy, can Jesus get sad or angry?
Me: Well, He doesn't like it when we don't make good choices and when we are disobedient. So when we hurt Jesus' feeling by not being obedient we have to say I'm sorry and ask Him to forgive us.
Evan: Yeah...you just have to say the magic words!
Me: Yep...you just have to say the magic words!

Folks, it's that easy.  Think of all the times we hurt someone that we love and have to ask them to forgive us in order to make things right again.  Or all the times we make our kids say I'm sorry for pushing a kid down on the playground (or is that just my kid?).  It's a really simple concept.  You wrong someone or hurt them in any way... you ask for forgiveness.  It's common courtesy.

Think of all of the times when we've made choices in our lives that are not pleasing in the eyes of God.  Now try to remember whether or not we've asked Him to forgive us for our transgressions.

1 John 1:9 (New International Version)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
