Pride. By definition it is a high sense of the worth of one's self. We are all guilty of it. At times we may subconciously boast in our ability to be a descent parent, a better friend, a better wife, etc. Admit it, there are times when we feel that we are super competent in a particular area in our lives. The bible deals specificaly with the issue of pride in the following verses...
Proverbs (NIV)
18:12 Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.
11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Well there you have it...
Pride is a beast when it's not on your side. Very true about the wisdom with humility
